Proactive Management of Workplace Harassment in the "Me Too" Era
A live, interactive 2-hour Webinar presented by Dennis Duffy, Esq. and Sabrina Shadi, Esq.
Wednesday, January 17, 2018
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Eastern) 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. (Central) 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Mountain) 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon (Pacific)
As highlighted by the recent "Me Too" campaign, the sexual assault and harassment claims against movie producer Harvey Weinstein and the high profile gender harassment and discrimination scandals involving news anchors, politicians and corporate executives in a variety of industries, sexual harassment is a challenge facing employers across the spectrum of American workplaces large and small. Employers that assume that "Me Too" will not include their workplaces may be heading for potential disaster. How an employer handles a complaint - or even a hint - of sexual harassment in the workplace can have major legal and reputational consequences. Failing to act promptly to address issues, or ignoring issues in the workplace, will have severe ramifications.
This advanced-level Webinar will discuss recent judicial and EEOC developments, including:
What constitutes severe or pervasive conduct; Same-sex harassment and when and how to establish the Faragher-Ellerth affirmative defense; Conducting lawful and effective internal investigations; Creative preventative strategy solutions (beyond basic harassment training and updating policies) to diagnose and proactively manage workplace culture issues, promote an environment that values respect, and foster open communication important to creating a culture of compliance and mutual respect. WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Human Resource Professionals, Attorneys (both In-House and Out-of-House), Managers, Supervisors and Business Owners will all benefit from the Webinar.
