    As highlighted by the recent "Me Too" campaign, the sexual assault and harassment claims against movie producer Harvey Weinstein and the high profile gender harassment and discrimination scandals involving news anchors, politicians and corporate executives in a variety of industries, sexual harassment is a challenge facing employers across the spectrum of American workplaces large and small. Employers that assume that "Me Too" will not include their workplaces may be heading for potential disaster. How an employer handles a complaint - or even a hint - of sexual harassment in the workplace can have major legal and reputational consequences. Failing to act promptly to address issues, or ignoring issues in the workplace, will have severe ramifications.

    Dennis P. Duffy is a partner with Baker & Hostetler, LLP, in Houston, Texas. He represents management exclusively in all aspects of labor and employment law, including defending allegations of discrimination, unfair labor practices, wage and hour, OSHA claims, whistleblowing complaints and wrongful discharge, non-compete and trade secrets, counseling and training to employers on managing workplace issues and preventing employment lawsuits. Prior to re-entering private practice, Mr. Duffy was Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Labor and Employment with Time Warner Inc.

    Sabrina L. Shadi is a partner with Baker & Hostetler, LLP, in Los Angeles, California. Her practice focuses on employment law, with an emphasis in EEO, Americans with Disabilities Act and other disability discrimination claims, as well as wage and hour, trade secret misappropriation, and OSHA issues. She also handles the defense of class action matters, particularly with regard to wage and hour issues for companies in the technology and hospitality industries. In addition, Ms. Shadi provides training, investigates complaints and counsels employers in all aspects of personnel matters, including wage issues, harassment complaints, company-wide layoffs and terminations, and the development of employee handbooks and policy manuals.
