California has among the most progressive employment laws in the country, which are vastly more protective of employees than federal law. Any employer with covered employees in these jurisdictions needs to understand and comply with these laws. As a result, NELI is pleased to offer our first-ever webinar specifically on California-focused issues. The webinar will be presented by Felicia Davis with Paul Hastings and Andrew Livingston with Orrick and moderated by NELI's ADA Training Director, David Fram.
In this program, we will examine California's unique laws related to:
Protections for individuals based on sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or family status, and other characteristics not covered by federal law; COVID-19 paid leave laws and return to work issues; Employers’ use of background checks, including criminal and credit checks, drug tests and marijuana use; Inquiries that reveal employees’ political and other lawful activities; Pay equity and prior salary inquiries; Wage and hour issues; Arbitration; and The legislative response to the #MeToo movement
