In response to overwhelming demand by HR professionals and lawyers for more information on burning COVID-19 workplace questions, NELI will host a FOLLOW-UP WEBINAR this coming Friday, March 20th. David Fram and Ellen McLaughlin will discuss current developments surrounding Coronavirus in the Workplace. This program is Part 2 of the Coronavirus: Fast-Breaking Workplace Issues - Part 1, which was held on March 12, 2020.

In this week’s webinar, David Fram will be joined by nationally-recognized employment law expert, Ellen McLaughlin, to address the newest pressing questions, as well as the brand new FMLA leave and paid sick leave statute signed into law on March 18, 2020.

Ellen and David will address many of the questions NELI has received over the past week, including:

  • Legal and practical considerations on permitting or requiring employees to work at home, including wage/hour questions, reasonable accommodation for a home office, and critical documentation issues;
  • Whether employers may ask about an employee’s possible exposure, the health of an employee's “household” or family members’ exposure or travel;
  • The degree of legal exposure involved when an employer intends to take employees’ temperatures, possible defenses, and alternatives that might reduce an employer’s risk;
  • Issues under the ADA, National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and other laws when an employee refuses to come to the workplace;
  • Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA) guidance, including for health care workers;
  • Whether excluding “high-risk” employees from the workplace could raise Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) claims; and
  • Whether employees might have workers compensation claims if the virus is contracted in the workplace.

    Webinars are cost-effective and convenient. You participate in the entire conference from your office using your computer and your log-in code. This Webinar will run for one-and-one half (1.5) hours with an opportunity to submit questions via email throughout the program. Plus, for one fee, you can have as many people participate as you can fit around your computer, but only those registered with NELI will receive an attendance certificate.

    You will receive an email from us with log-in instructions. If you do not receive the email within one (1) day of the Webinar, please contact NELI.

    Due to the spontaneous nature of this production and time-driven application processes, CLE will be generally unavailable. However, some jurisdictions may accept self-reporting. We will provide all necessary forms and proof of attendance. HRCI and SHRM recertification hours will be available. Please email us for more information.

    To self-file for CLE with your jurisdiction, we suggest that you provide them with a copy of this webpage, a copy of the Power Point that you will receive, and the certificate we send to you after the program with your signature attesting to your participation.

    Registration Fee: $199.00

    If you participated in the Coronavirus Webinar, Part 1, on March 12, your Registration Fee for Part 2 will be $149.00.

    If you are unable to participate "live," you will be provided with a link to view the webinar at your convenience.

    Remember: Unlimited viewers from the same computer. However, an attendance certificate will be issued for registered participants ONLY.

    Prepayment is required to receive your log-in instructions. If you can not provide a credit card, please email or call and we may be able to invoice you.
